Quality is not just a word we use, but is the defining difference in how american chrome manufactures our products and why our customers have made us one of the most successful chrome and stainless suppliers in north america. It is an unfortunate reality in our business that, to the naked eye, the finish on a cheap chrome hub cap can appear just as bright and shiny as the finish on an oem-grade product. For most customers, quality usually only becomes an issue after the initial purchase, when the product is exposed to the elements and begins to rust, chip, peel, and corrode.
At american chrome company, however, we believe that our customers, educated about the quality of the products and the materials used, will choose quality when given the choice. We hope the following tutorial will explain the different plating and material choices available, and how an educated consumer should evaluate each for their relative cost and performance.
